I enjoy scratch building models.

Shown here are, a 1/72 scale space racer I built in the Disney IMD Model Shop with my partner Steve Molin, a 5"x2" Fairy house in our backyard and a 1/72 scale Dog Lander.

I fabricate concrete counters. This counter is in my home signed with the "JS" logo stamp. The process begins with test bricks to determine color and aggregate mixtures. Exacting molds are built out of melamine. Rebar and mesh reinforcements are added inside the mold. The final cement formula is poured in the mold and allowed to cure for four days. After curing the the molds are removed and the cement is polished to a marble-like finish, waxed and installed. In this case the counter tops were installed as part of a complete kitchen remodel which included custom cabinets that I built out of bamboo plywood, a glass tile backsplash, new appliances and flooring.

I MIG welded, machined and polished cold rolled steel and added a walnut top surface. Integrated USB powered LEDs provide keyboard lighting.

Pew! Pew! Pew!.... My kids and I like building blasters out of recycled scrap from around the house. We give them out as birthday presents. Triggers have been removed since we're not licensed to manufacture laser cannons.
